Vintage sterling silver ring tray / holder by Pampaloni, designed “a’pres” (after) Gio Ponti, circa 1980. Gio Ponti (1891-1979) was a prolific architect and designer in 20th century Italian Modernism; continuing to be an influence in household design. Pampaloni is an Italian silversmith and retailer established in 1902 in Florence, Italy; still producing luxury table and giftware. The ring tray / dish features a two dimensional horse head handle. The dish is marked: PAMPALONI d’apres GIO PONTI 925 (sterling silver) star symbol 176 FL (Firenze/Florence) 2 7/8” (7.3cm) diameter, 1 3/4” (4.5cm) high.
