Antique Hanau 800 Fine silver stein.  Exuberantly decorated in a Renaissance manner, attributed to the Hanau silver firm of B. Neresheimer & Sohne, founded in 1893.

In the late 19th century in Germany, Hanau silversmiths were known for producing silver items from much earlier eras, freely referencing Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo styles in their work.

This stein is very much the style of fantastically elaborate work that is typical of Hanau silver.  The body of the stein has a large scale floral design, with smaller scale floral motifs on the cover and the pedestal base.  The finial is a bouquet all on its own!  The original gilded interior is bright and in good condition.

The stein is without monograms or presentation engravings.
