Product Description
Victorian era silver plate wine bottle coasters, exuberantly designed with a “grape and vine” motif, circa 1900. Made by the prolific silversmithing firm of James Dixon & Sons, of Sheffield, England, in business circa 1806-1992. The coasters are EPNS (Electro-Plate Nickel Silver) with turned hardwood bases. The late Victorian era bottle coasters have a large internal diameter, 5 1/2” (14cm), wide enough for a magnum. The silver plating is in very good condition. 8 5/8” (22cm) diameter, 2” (5.1cm) high. $895 for the pair.
