Product Description

Japanese Imari jardiniere, made for export from Japan to the west in the 19th century.

This monumental jardiniere is richly decorated in underglaze blue, red/rust and gilded throughout. The surface is entirely covered in hand painted stylized depictions of flowers and shrubbery in repeating panels and bands, on a vertically ribbed body with an out turned lip.

The jardiniere is in excellent condition.

17 1/2" (44.5cm) diameter, 10" (25.4cm) high.
