Japanese Maki-e Lacquer Dresser Box

Antique Japanese lacquer dresser box, circa 1900.  Decorated in gold on a deep oxblood red background in the traditional Maki-e lacquerware technique.

The box shows very minor wear to the lip of the box; consistent with age and use.

6 5/8” (16.8cm) by 3 1/2” (8.9cm), 1 3/4” (4.5cm) high.  The top is very slightly domed.
