Sterling silver and cut crystal dresser jar, impressed mark STERLING, Canadian, circa 1930.  The cover is detailed with bands of engine turned engraving, around a central cartouche monogrammed “M” in Old English font.  

4 1/2” (11.5cm) diameter, 3” (7.6cm) high.  The top is slightly domed.
