Vintage Synthetic Emerald and Diamond Ring

A beautiful vintage synthetic * emerald and diamond ring set in platinum. The ring is set with 1 square cut synthetic emerald (Clarity: LI / Colour: Deep Intense Green with Bluish hue) weighing approximately 1.73ct. The ring is also set with 2 trilliant cut diamonds (Clarity: VS-SI / Colour: I-J) which are estimated to weigh 0.32ct. total weight. It is currently has two "sizing balls" on the bottom of the shank resulting is a size of 4.75 (4 3/4).  It is estimated it would be size 6 once these are removed. The ring can be sized to other sizes and its approximate weight (including the "sizing balls") is 8.5gm.

* Synthetic emeralds are some of the most expensive synthetic gems.  The methods used to create them in labs require expensive equipment, the process is slow and energy intensive and the yield of facettable material is low.

A synthetic emerald will have the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a natural emerald.  There is a price difference between a natural and a lab-created emerald, the lab created will be less.
