Product Description

Vintage art glass vase, from the glass studios of Kent Ipsen (Kent Forrest Ipsen, 1933-2012).  Ipsen was known for making both sculptural and blown glass work.  This vase has a black molten glass outer layer, with a partially iridescent finish over a heavy cerulean blue cased glass body, early to mid 1970s.  Signed “Ipsen” near the base.  Ipsen has glass work displayed in venues such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Corning Museum of Glass and the Vatican Museum.

11 1/4” (28.6cm) high, 5 1/2” (14cm) diameter at the rim.
