Lobmeyr vase, circa 1900.  Delightfully enamelled to depict mushrooms growing on the forest floor with cedar bushes and fir trees.  The design is first wheel cut from the outside, colour enamelled and then gilded.  The outside of the vase shows the gilding only, with the full colour scene visible from the top only.  The small grey spots on the mushrooms are painted from the top, adding to the depth and realism of the depiction.
