M. Redon Limoges porcelain dinner service, mostly for 10 * with many serving pieces, made in France circa 1920. ** The classically inspired set features a variation of a Greek Key motif in emerald green between two bands of gilding.

The set consists of:

 

10 dinner plates 9 3/4”

9 salad plates 8 1/2”

9 bread & butter plates 6 /4”

10 nappy/fruit bowls 5 3/8” 

11 tea cups

13 saucers

1 sauce boat & cover

1 platter 13 1/4” by 9”

1 celery dish 12 3/8” by 5 1/4”

1 round covered vegetable bowl

1 round open vegetable bowl

1 condiment bowl

2 pickle dishes 9” by 5”. 

1 creamer

1 covered sugar

$1500 for the set.


* There is also (in addition) 1 salad plate and 2 bread & butter plates that are usable but with small chips.

** M. Redon was founded in Limoges, France by Martial Redon and P.J. Gibus in the 1860s.  Gibus retired in 1881 and in 1896 Redon retired, with his son taking over the business.  In 1906 Redon Jr. was joined by P. Jouhanneaud and his son and the company named was changes to La Porcelaine Limousine, hence the additional stamped mark of PL Limoges France.
