Mid-century modern Mexican glass mosaic and brass box, made by Salvador Teran, circa 1960.  The cover depiction is of a traditionally attired Aztec woman presenting an offering in brightly coloured glass inlay.  The box is raised on squared pad feet.

Salvador Teran (1920-74) was born in Taxco, Mexico and worked with his cousins Los Castillo, before moving to Mexico City and opening his own workshop in 1952.  His work in jewellery and decorative objects is highly stylized and graphic in design.
