This legendary company has been famous and prestigious for over 160 years! The history of Moser crystal starts in 1857 with the talented glass engraver Ludwig Moser (1833-1916) opening his own workshop in Karlovy Vary (in present day Czech Republic). By 1873 Moser is exhibiting at the Vienna World Fair. His fine workmanship is discovered by Emperor Franz Joseph I, who appoints him as his exclusive supplier of glass. In 1904 Moser has a warrant for the Austrian-Hungarian Imperial Court. Moser successfully presents his work at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. The Persian Shah Mozaffar-ed-Din visits the Moser glassworks and falls in love with the artistry, appointing him to Court Contractor. The appreciation of crowned royal heads appreciating the elegance and beauty of the workmanship continues in 1908, with Moser becoming the court supplier to Edward VII of England. Moser continues to win design awards to this day! |
