Samuel Kirk & Son Company Repousse pattern sterling silver pedestal bowl. Established in Baltimore in 1815, Kirk is the oldest surviving silversmithing firm in the USA. This exquisitely intricate Repousse style of ornamentation was introduced by Samuel Kirk in 1828 and has been popular ever since, often referred to as “Baltimore Silver”. Fully marked on the base: S. Kirk & Son Co, 925/1000, 33B F which dates this pedestal bowl to the time period of 1896-1924. The bowl is without presentation engravings or monograms. 9 1/4” (23.5cm) diameter, 5” (12.7cm) high. 842.6 grams
