Sterling silver and Lenox porcelain demitasse set, circa 1930. The ivory colour, gold rimmed porcelain inserts were made by Lenox Company of Trenton, New Jersey. The capitol “L” in an open wreath over Lenox in green is the trademark used by Lenox circa 1906-30. The sterling silver cup frame and saucers were made by Matthews Silver Co. of Newark, New Jersey. The cup frames are engraved “DRT” in Script. * The cups are 2 1/2” (6.3cm) high, The saucers are 3 5/8” (9.2cm) diameter. $950 for the set of 6. * With the provenance as provided by the last owner. The set was given to Dora Rounds Thompson upon her retirement as Vice Principal of the Washington Irving High School in New York City in 1934.
