Art Deco sterling silver curling trophy, from the Hamilton Thistle Club *. English hallmarks for Sheffield 1932, made by prolific silversmiths Mappin & Webb of Royal Cutlery Works, Norfolk Street, Sheffield. The trophy is engraved on the front: ** a 5 point earl’s coronet over “B”, the Earl of Bessborough, Governor General of Canada, with two columns of names on either side, W.A. Robinson D.R. Watson G.M. Coates A.R. Tarlton Donald Campbell R.A. Reynolds G.M. Campbell W.H. Weller Skip Skip Hamilton Thistle 1932 and blank on the reverse. 9” (22.9cm) high, 6” (15.3cm) diameter, 8 3/4” (22.3cm) across the handles. 475.5 grams. $2700.
