Product Description

Substantial silver punch bowl, Spanish, early 20th century.  The bowl is of a 12 sided lobed melon form with an overall larger scale hammered finish, reminiscent of a honeycomb pattern.  

The bowl bears the cypher of a coronet, a sign of a nobleman.  The style of coronet is that of a Spanish Marquess or Portuguese Marquis.

Trademarked on the side of the pedestal base:

Joyeria el Gallo translates from Spanish to English as Rooster Jewellery, likely the name of the retailer.  916 Fine Silver is one of the grades of silver used in Spain.  It is slightly below sterling silver which is 925 Fine.
