Victorian boxed scent bottles, the glass scent bottles in a box the shape of a dome-top chest with gilded straps and jewels. English, circa 1870-80.
The square bottles have their original stoppers, one with a chip.
2 3/4” (7cm) high.
The box is covered in a lacquered burled walnut finish paper over a wood base, with brass and glass mounts, emulating hinges and straps. It is very much the image of a medieval treasure chest in miniature!
The chest is 4 1/4” (10.8cm) by 2 1/2” (6.4cm) at the base, 3 3/4” (9.5cm) high.
The box has minor chips. Wear consistent with age and use.
