Victorian work / keepsake box, English, circa 1870-90.  The domed-top box is richly veneered in burled walnut with brass mounts, reminiscent of a medieval chest.  The interior has been refreshed with contemporary lining.

A beautiful storage box for remote controls on the coffee table, or on a desk or dresser.
