Victorian era Aesthetic Movement earthenware transfer ware platter, illustrating a bird and butterfly above ferns and Hawthorn bushes.

Impressed initials TGB and stamped Hawthorn TGB, for Thomas Gilbert Booth of Tunstall, Staffordshire, England.  Hawthorn is the pattern name and the company used this trademark circa 1876-83.

This lovely platter is in excellent condition and would grace any country-inspired interior.

16 3/8” (41.5cm) by 12 3/4” (32.4cm).
