Victorian ironstone china well and tree platter, decorated in the Japanese style , or Japonisme, popular in decorative arts in the 1860-80s.
The vibrantly painted platter has a central floral panel, framed in a band of green with a scrolled vine design and again in orange, with a deep blue border with multiple smaller panels of robed figures and flowering shrubbery, with scroll work gilding.
The platter has an impressed mark of Real Ironstone China and a stamped Ironstone trademark, with the pattern number of # 3620. English, circa 1870.
20 1/2” (52.1cm) by 15 7/8” (40.4cm), 2 3/4” (7cm).
