Victorian Limoges luncheon plates, made in France circa 1895-1900.

The set of 12 plates are decorated with floral sprays in gilded roundels, a central floral wreath and a richly gilded gadroon rim on an emerald green border.

9 1/2” (24.1cm) diameter.

The plates are trademarked stamped:

L. Bernardaud & Co 

Limoges

D & Co

France

J.J. Freeman & Co

Toledo, O.

The partnership of Remi Delinieres and Leonard Bernardaud existed in the period of 1895 to 1900 only, after which the china is stamped L. Bernardaud & Co.  

These plates were made exclusively for the J.J. Freeman & Co. of Toledo, Ohio.  Jacob Jedediah Freeman (1849-1926) was a jeweller and a supplier of fine tableware to the carriage trade in Toledo, Ohio.


RVP
