Victorian exuberance at its finest!  Elkington & Co. silver plated table garniture set, featuring swans in the Renaissance Revival style.  Dated 1881 and 1883 *.  The largest garniture has three swans with raised wings on a trefoil base, supporting the central column.  The plateau is also trefoil in shape.  The set is in very good condition.

The central garniture is 13” (33cm) high, 8” (20.3cm) diameter.

The plateau is 13” (33cm) diameter, 2” (5.1cm) high.

The smaller garnitures are 8” (20.3cm) high, 4” (10.2cm) diameter.

Elkington & Co. of Birmingham, England was awarded the first British patent did electroplating in 1840.  Elkington developed its own date cypher code, similar to the British sterling silver date letter system.  The two smaller garnitures are dated 1881 and the taller garniture and the mirrored plateau are dated 1883.
