Victorian vermeil (gold washed sterling silver) Christening / youth set, hallmarked London 1878.  The handles all depict a mythological inspired scene.  

This amazing set is in very good condition and in the original presentation box.  The silversmith is Henry John Lias, made for Howell, James & Co. of 5, 7 & 9 Regent Street, London, in business 1819-1911.  The trademark includes the symbol for a Royal Warrant “To The Queen”; Queen Victoria.

The fork tines and handle, the knife blade and handle and the spoon are all clearly hallmarked.  The back of the spoon handle is monogrammed with a superimposed “AC”.

The fork is 7” (17.8cm) long.

The knife is 8 1/8” (20.7cm) long.

The spoon is 6” (15.3cm) long.

$2200 for the set.
