The young lady is depicted gathering (catching) cupids, representing flowers awakened by spring’s warmth. The German word on the back of the plate “gefangen” translates to “caught”. The plate is Vienna porcelain, made in Austria, circa 1900. Marked with the Vienna beehive mark in underglaze blue. The plate is in pristine condition. 9 5/8” (24.4cm) diameter.
