Product Description

Vintage champagne cooler / bucket, made by Martineau of France.  Fonderie de Cuivre Martineau Paris is the metal working company, established in 1906.  “Fonderie de Cuivre” means copper foundry, although the company has  and does work in many metals, including silver, brass and aluminum.  This example is aluminum plated over brass, providing a non-tarnishing surface with the weight of brass.  It could also double as a magazine stand or firewood holder.
