Royal Crown Derby Loving Cup

Product Details

This beautifully painted and gilded Royal Crown Derby loving cup has an extraordinary provenance, with the Derby date marks for 1884. It was given as a wedding gift to Princess Louise, eldest daughter of the then Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). She married Lord Fife, who was granted the title Duke of Fife upon their marriage in 1889.
The most recent owner was the daughter of Timothy Eaton.

The cup is cobalt blue with jewelled bordered panel decorations on gold, one side with fruit, the other with floral. It sits 14cms (5.5 inches) tall.  The cup is in superb condition, without crazing, chips or cracks.
