Art Deco Ceramic Vase

Art Deco ceramic vase, designed by Jean-Louis Mayodon (1893-1967) for Sevres.

Mayodon was appointed Artistic Advisor to the Manufacturer in 1934, then to the position of Artistic Director in 1941.  He was known for his practice of using tin glazes with “fire of gold”.  This is one of his designs.

Stamped Sevres, MNF, France.

5 1/4” by 8 1/2”, 13 1/4” high.

$3900.

 

This vase was purchased from the original owner who bought it in Paris in 1926.
