KPM porcelain commemorative cup and saucer in cobalt blue and gold.
Honourary award of the city of Wiesbaden in memory of the liberation of the German Rhine, July 1, 1930. The cup depicts an image of the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden (spa house) which is used as a convention/concert venue. The image shows the inscription “Aquis Mattiacis”, (the waters of the Mattiacis) above the portal.
The cup and saucer are both marked with the KPM under glaze cobalt blue sceptre mark, and the overglaze red orb stamp denoting floral painting and figurative scenes.
The cup is 4” high.
The saucer is 7 1/4” in diameter.
