Majolica Palissy Ware type dish in fine condition.

Depicting a snake, 2 lizards and 3 beetles in a grassy knoll.

Impressed mark for M. Mafra, Caldas, Portugal, circa 1870-80.  The crown mark indicates a date after 1870 when Mafra achieved royal patronage.

12” diameter, 4” high.

There is a similar plate in the Victoria & Albert Museum, Ceramics Collection, London, UK.  Museum number CIRC. 435-1965
