Vintage silver plate trumpet vase with the original cobalt glass liner.  

Pierced design with grape and vine motif and a banded acanthus border on the rolled lip and the base.  Marked Sheffield.

Engraved “Festina Lente”, Latin for “make haste slowly”.   This motto has been adopted numerous times over history for Emperors Augustus and Titus, the Medicis and the Onslows.  Presentation engraving B.D.D.
