Vintage Ankh Diamond Enamel Brooch

A beautiful vintage 15kt yellow gold with silver top Ankh brooch featuring 19 rose cut diamonds, est. 0.26ct (clarity:SI & H-I colour) and blue enamel on the staff with alternating gold stars and dots; plus white enamel on the tips of the arm. The Ankh is an ancient Egyptian hieroplyphic character that read "life" and often seen in the hands of Egyptian gods as a symbol of eternal life. It is sometimes called the "breath of Life" or "the Key of the Nile", representing the giving of life. Folklore suggests that the wearer of the Ankh must know its fabled meanings.
