Product Details
Antique brown transfer ware platter of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa and Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal. This was part of a multi-scene pattern called "The World" that included scenes from Ottawa, Quebec and Toronto. It was made between 1884-1890 by Wallis Gimson & Co., England. Some of the pieces , including this one, are marked M.B. & Co instead of having the Gimson marks. In this case, Gimson is the manufacturer making for another company to retail. More information on this pattern can be found at www.thecanadasite.com under Great Canadian Historical Platters 1835-1900.
The measurements are 15 3/4" by 12 1/2".
