Vintage Flavio Poli Sommerso glass vase, designed for Seguso Vetri d’Arte.

The vase has layers of coloured glass; purple glass cased in blue and further encased in a clear layer.  Murano, Italy, 20th century.

Sommerso is the Italian word for “submerged”, referencing the multiple colour layers within the glass.

16” (40.6cm) high, 7” (17.8cm) by 4 1/2” (11.5cm).
