Art Deco sterling silver Ladies Singles tennis trophy, made by S. Kirk & Son Co. for the Green Spring Valley Hunt Club of Owings Mills, Maryland *.

The trophy is stamped S. Kirk & Son Co. with the trademark used 1896-1924.

The trophy has the original presentation engraving, on one side only:

Suggesting that Eleanor Cottman became the owner of the trophy on her three-peat victory.

13 1/2” (33.3cm) high, 6 3/4” (17.2cm) diameter, 12 1/2” (31.8cm) across the handles.

* The Green Spring Valley Hunt Club was established in 1892 to promote the sport of fox hunting.  A golf course was added in 1914 and over the years racquet sports (such as tennis) swimming and skating have been added to the club’s roster.
